Rodrigo Silva joins the club as Coach Development Director

Ginga FC is delighted to announce Rodrigo Jorge Silva (Coach Rod) as our Coach Development Director.

Everson Maciel, Ginga FC owner, is certain that coach Rod has so much to contribute immediately, we are excited to welcome him to the GFC family! With his highest-level coaching certification, Coach Rod brings important leadership qualities and passion, he is excited about embarking on this new challenge at GFC.

Coach Rod will work in collaboration with the Player Development Director Fabricio Silva, and will overview the work of our coaches.

We look forward to integrating him into the club during the winter and getting him working with our entire coaching staff as we continue to build and improve towards the end of the Spring and the start of the 2017-2018 season.

Coach Rod was born in Brazil, spent a substantial period of his childhood in Brazil and developed as a player in the youth academies at Londrina Sports Club with coach Everson Maciel. He made his senior debut at Londrina Sport Club and played in several Brazilian teams. At international level, Coach Rod made his debut for Al Oruba Sur in Oman in June 2007. He has been performing at a high coaching level with CBF, Brazilian Soccer Confederation, and was an important player for several Brazilian and international professional teams.

Rodrigo with Brazilian National team coaches Dunga (World Cup 2006 and 2014) and Parreira (World cup Champion in 1994) during his A liscense course.

Coach Rod explained that he became very passionate on working with youth since he was invited by coach Everson to work with our summer program the last two years. Therefore, he decided to switch his path from professional to youth development. He became passionate about developing youth players and seeing the great results that could be done. With an experience of 15 years of professional soccer, he is ready to use all his knowledge to develop our players and improve our club. We’re really happy to have him on board! Da-lhe Ginga!!!
